LONDON (AP), — Queen Elizabeth I reluctantly accepted medical advice and has cancelled a trip to Northern Ireland. Buckingham Palace announced Wednesday.

The palace didn’t offer specifics on the decision, but says the 95-year-old monarch is “in good spirits,” and disappointed that she will no longer be able to visit Northern Ireland for engagements Wednesday and Thursday.

” The Queen sends her warmest wishes to Northern Ireland and looks forward to returning in the future,” said the palace.

She is resting at Windsor Castle, where she has stayed since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.

This decision is taken just days after Elizabeth , an armed forces charity, was seen using a walking sticks at a major public event.

She was previously photographed using a cane 2003,, but this was after she had undergone knee surgery.

The queen, who is now widowed, continues to have a full schedule of royal duties. On Tuesday, hosted a reception at Windsor Castle to global business leaders and held audience with diplomats.
